Tin granules are silvery grains or particles that remain stable in the air. Sn granules dissolve in concentrated hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, aqua regia, concentrated nitric acid, and hot caustic solutions, but are insoluble in water. They are produced from tin metal ingots. At 100°C, tin exhibits excellent ductility, allowing it to be easily rolled into super thin tin foils. Within the temperature range of 13.2°C to 161°C, tin is most stable and is referred to as white tin, which has a tetragonal crystal structure. Below 13.2°C, tin metal transforms into a loose, powder-like form known as gray tin or “tin pest.” Above 161°C, white tin converts into orthorhombic tin. Tin metal reacts with halogens when heated to form tin tetrahalides and reacts with sulfur to form tin sulfide. Tin disulfide, which resembles gold in color, is commonly used as a golden pigment.

High purity Tin metal granulars are mainly as special material in IC packaging, for examples, DIP, SOJ, SOP, TSOP, QFP, BGA, CSP and other packaing process. It acts as tin solder for electron industry, which is for electronic welding and diffusion doping processing. It is also a kind of extre pure reagent. Tin metal is main raw material for low melting point alloy.
